The VA4RE Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct
VA4RE has spent years cultivating a reputation for excellence and ethical behavior. Anyone associated with VA4RE must abide by these standards if they wish to benefit from their association with us. We believe strong ethical behavior is essential to maintaining and improving the quality of services being provided to our clients and contributes directly to the reputation of the profession.
Professional Conduct In General
- Conduct daily affairs with honesty.
- Maintain strict attention to detail
- Put aside ego and own up to (and correct) mistakes or miscommuncation
- Maintain and improve knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Never act in a way that would reflect poorly on our profession
- Beat isolation by engaging in the Virtual Assistant community
- Never steal - clients, website content, people's trust.
Professional Conduct With Clients
- Represent clients with nothing less than the highest level of professionalism.
- Never overstate your level of competence in any service.
- Honor your contracts, agreements and commitments
- Deliver tenacious communication and never 'disappear' - return calls quickly.
- Clearly communicate expectations up front utilizing methods such as contracts and agreements.
Confidentiality/Privacy
- Strictly safeguard all private and confidential information entrusted to you. Maintain PC backups diligently
- Do not use or share confidential information with any outside party.
- Return to the client any and all documents (originals and copies) upon termination of the agreement.
Conflicts of Interest
- Violate no copyright laws, intellectual property laws.
- Do not knowingly be part of any illegal or unethical activity.
- Do not engage in any activity that presents a conflict of interest - notify clients of any and all potential conflicts.
