What is involved in creating a custom website with VA4RE?
First, we have to examine the elements of a real estate custom website design:
Domain name: This is a vital element of your website design. Your domain name should reflect your specialty or unique selling proposition. VA4RE can work with you to purchase a domain(s) or work with an existing domain. Your domain will have to be pointed to a web host (or server).
Web hosting: This is where your website will "live" on the Internet. A web host is different from your ISP (Internet Service Provider). While your ISP allows you to access the internet to view web pages and check email, a web host provides the space and bandwidth to "hold" all of your websites' HTML files, graphics and allows us to process forms when visitors view your website. VA4RE can provide web hosting for your needs at the most economical price.
Email services: Often, clients will have an existing domain name that they plan to use with their new website design. If email services on this domain are already in place, VA4RE can work with you to ensure that any email associated with this specific domain (

) will continue to work. VA4RE can also assist you in configuring new email services on a new domain with the web or email host. Often, when you sign up for a web host, they will often include email services as part of the hosting fee.
Unique Selling Proposition: Next is assisting you in developing a theme or unique selling proposition for your website. Especially in the real estate field, it is so crucial to your business to specialize or niche with a specific USP (unique selling proposition) so your new website won't look like every other real estate website out there. Crucial Pages: We then need to determine what types of pages and sub-pages you'll need on your website. What type of content do you plan to offer? Do you need IDX or MLS listings to appear on your site? Do you need several forms, such as a contact form or a newsletter sign-up page? Where will you obtain the text for your pages and articles? How graphic intensive would you like the site? Do you plan to use multimedia such as Flash? Do you need the added functionality of PHP? All of these considerations will be crucial in determining the size and scope of the project.
Color Schemes: Now, we can discuss color schemes and VA4RE can put together two or three possible mockups of the design. We'll strive to make sure we're hitting the mark in the look and feel of your website. Once the basic template is complete, we simply develop all of the pages, add all of the content and load them to the web server. Your website is now LIVE! Congratulations!
The entire process typically takes anywhere between 40 to 60 hours or $3000-$4500. This is a fraction of what most custom real estate website designers charge for a full website. (We have heard many times from clients that they have associates that spend upwards of $20,000 for ugly, overly intensive sites) This amount will vary, depending on the graphic intensity and the time necessary to develop text for the website. Perhaps you would like a Flash animation, Flash menu or even a PHP driven website for increased functionality. We can handle any possible design needs. Many, many other firms charge thousands of dollars for website design and many real estate template sites also charge huge monthly fees for hosting and maintenance. At VA4RE, we'd rather give you a website you love for half what normal firms charge - so we can continue beyond the initial design and have a hand in helping you grow your business.
