Hello folks! As you know, I’m always on the lookout for tips and tricks to get more visibility for my clients. This tip is so juicy, I just had to blog about it!
Some of you agents may have already heard about Google Base. Google Base is a place where you can post all types of content and have it show up on Google (including real estate listings). If you have a Point2 site, you know that they’ve been feeding your listings to Google Base and Trulia since last March. Do a Google search for Real Estate - and you’ll see the Google Base functionality that allows users to bring up a map of all listings available in that area.

Hi folks,
Thanks for your patience this last week and this week. It’s been one awful August. As some of you know, my husband Vance slipped and did quite a number on his ankle - view the horrible photo here. So, he’s not getting around too well and just hates being immobile - and that means I’m running around fixing meals and helping him get around.
I’m sneaking work time in when I can, but it’s hit or miss. Hang in there with me! Thanks!

Yes, I love tech! This week is the Bergstrom annual family reunion and I’m posting this from Fort Warden (where the movie, Officer & a Gentleman was filmed) with my PC which now is sitting on the picnic table next to my father-in-law’s huge RV. He was nice enough to allow me access to his satellite internet connection, so it’s a working vacation for me!
I’m here plugging away at projects and just wanted to share how quirky it is these days with technology that all the neighboring campers are giving me very odd looks as I type away.
With today’s tech, location isn’t nearly as vital as it used to be. If I had my own RV with satellite, I could work from literally anywhere! The breeze is a bit chilly coming off the water, but I could always move inside the RV.

I’m constantly being asked by clients and prospects “how do I market my business successfuly online?” They tell me that they hear reciprocal linking is what they need to do or some even tell me that they want to start a blog but have no idea what to do or what to write once they get one. They get so much information and mis-information from so many sources, they often just give up and stick to the old fashioned methods.
The three steps you must take before you can be successful in any online marketing goal are:
1. Know what everyone else is doing right now!

Yes, I bet you think this is yet another blog post about search engine optimization and reciprocal links, but I promise it isn’t!
So often, my clients and us web gurus are so totally focused on how to get our site linked from other sites that we sometimes forget that we can have great success the other way around, too!

…That was the title of a book I purchased recently off of Amazon. As many of you know, business has grown at times beyond my capacity to keep up. Hiring Keely back in February has helped a great deal, but things still become bumpy once and awhile what with 30 clients, a new mortgage, a teenager, a husband with a very fragile case of Type 1 diabetes and two wee ones to manage.

This is a response I posted to the Real Talk listserve - thought I’d post it here as well…
Reciprocal linking isn’t quite the panacea it once was, but there is a reason. Google’s Oct 2005 algo change adopted a
means of checking those recip links and analyzing the sites you’re linking to - they analize that link partners links and so on and - if your link partner links to less than relevant sites, then the impact of their link to you is lessened.
In other words, you have to take extra time to actually check out the sites that you’re ‘recommending’ with your link exchanges to make certain that they’re actually a quality site.

Desktop Publishing
First of all what the heck is it?
It’s when you use a computer to create documents for printing. So, real estate flyers, newspaper ads, manuals and more are often designed by desktop publishers.
What’s the difference between using a virtual assistant desktop publisher and creating your own designs with Publisher or similar program? Often, your real estate virtual assistant has the skills and experience to produce much more effective results. Your specialty is real estate, while the real estate virtual assistant has honed his/her skills over several years and has learned what works and what doesn’t.
